Rural Support Service
Rural Support Service
Jeff Russell is the Rural Support Worker at the Charleville Neighbourhood Centre. Jeff provides specialised outreach support to vulnerable individuals who are experiencing or are affected by difficult personal issues. His goal is to help clients heal, regain control of their lives, and develop the skills and resilience needed to manage their own circumstances.
The Rural Support Service offers targeted support and access to community resources, referrals, and practical assistance to help individuals and families achieve improved personal safety, an enhanced sense of well-being, connection to appropriate services, reduced immediate financial stress, and increased resilience and self-reliance.
The service provides information, advice, and referrals to help individuals cope with life’s challenges and make positive changes where necessary. This includes assistance with practical issues and referrals to counselling services, helping clients process difficult situations and move forward with greater confidence and emotional strength.
Jeff also focuses on developing local interagency partnerships and strengthening professional networks within the wider community. This ensures a coordinated and effective response to the social impacts of rural living, improving the overall support available to residents.
The Rural Support Service is a free and confidential outreach service covering the Murweh, Quilpie, Paroo, Bulloo, and Barcoo Shires.
You can contact Jeff by calling the Neighbourhood Centre on (07) 4654 1307 or via the Contact Us section on the website.
