The service aims to prevent the premature or inappropriate long-term institutionalisation of clients by ensuring they have a safe, secure, and well-maintained living environment. The service is delivered through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

The service provides lawn and yard maintenance as well as house maintenance services that are directly related to health and safety. These services are delivered through the Neighbourhood Centre. The Home Maintenance Service helps clients keep their homes in a safe and liveable condition. Maintenance work is typically focused on safety and access, such as repairing unsafe stairs or making other safety improvements. Other minor maintenance services may include changing light bulbs, replacing tap washers, installing smoke alarms, and making other essential repairs or adjustments.

The Charleville Home Maintenance Service also offers lawn mowing, garden maintenance, and rubbish removal to ensure the immediate surroundings of the client’s home are safe and accessible. The service charges a fee for lawn mowing and garden maintenance. Most maintenance services are provided free of charge; however, some circumstances may incur a cost.
